Sunday Morning

Waking up
Its Sunday morning
My first thought
We have school tomorrow
I turn my head to check the time
9:00
Too early
But there’s no going back
No going back to a deep slumber
My eyes
Filled with “sleep boogers”
I’m blinded
I start wiping them away
They won’t go down without a fight
Maybe a splash of water will terminate them

Walking down stairs
The house is still quiet
Nothing but the creaking wood
Is anyone awake?
Yes
Dads in the kitchen making eggs
I’m not hungry but I can make room
It’s a silent morning
No tension
Just silence
Peaceful silence
My kind of morning

My inspiration for this poem was really Sunday mornings, it's really such a relaxing day for every one. I hope people will read this poem and think just feel good and calm. Sunday mornings are perfect for relaxation and staying home, away from school drama.
