she asked how I am doing over a coffee for her, mine with a bit more
I watch
the smoke roll on, in plains and ascend

I say well, as I see myself walking away from her
barely clad body in chiffon and my own
with unbuttoned shirt of silk
We despise that what separates us is only skin
but sadly that is the reality we exist within
tasseled and thrown beside us nothing but a field of linen
while i pass a somber glance she is grinning
and giving
"that's enough" are the words that grace my lips
