Conform
She talks to animals
And sings herself to sleep
She prances around in little red dresses
Dancing in the sun all day.
She is an outcast
In the little town of gray.
No one sings
And no one suns
For everyone is the same.
Everyone holds her with disregard
And so she conforms
For the hate is just to great for her to stand
First her colors,
Then her voice,
She thinks she has no choice.
Then the animals,
Then the sun,
She doesn't want to be shunned.
And so she stands with the others
A sea full of grey.
She sings no more
And talks no more.
She is not shunned,
But is no longer young
For she grew up to fast
And now the life she had Is just her past.
And one same day
She sees a boy
he talks to animals
And sings himself to sleep.
He wears a red coat to play
And soaks in the sun all day.
She holds him with disregard
And he starts to conform
For the hate is just to great for this little boy of not yet eight.
