We Stand Together as Flowers
We stand together as flowers
That sway to the sound of the breeze
You were there, not one of ours,
Alone, as tall as the Redwood trees
In the distance, on the hill
Confident and proud, you can see our thrill
You come and go like the wind
Blowing one way or another
Swift and strong making everything bend
Just you, looking for your other
An invisible strength, but we know you are there
We’re losing our pedals to you, becoming bare
The sun getting ready to sleep; but not
Them, they are wide awake
Excitement making them shake
We wait and wait for the right time
Patience brings us to the pine
Standing in a crowd
Surrounded by joy and love
Listening to the voices so loud
Blessed by the one above
I wander how it would be to be alone
Depending on no one, on your own
