My Unforgiving Thoughts

Gushing
Flooding
It thunders over my head
Crashes into me
Enveloping me
Grasping me
Overwhelming me
Pelting me
Possessing me
I can’t fight it
I grit my teeth, shut my eyes
Go away
But it doesn’t
It just squeezes me tighter
Shakes me violently
It won’t be forgotten
It forces its way under my skin
Then infects me with its darkness
Sometimes
Your thoughts are your own worst enemy
