Do you think trees have feelings?
Do you think trees have feelings?
Because some seem to slouch
Whilst others stand tall and proud,
Are they sad because they just dropped their leafy friends on the floor and watched them die and get stuck to the bottom of a soggy shoe and get carried away forever?
Or are they feeling happy ‘cause people always come to them for shelter when it’s raining? Or because they get to watch the world from such a great height? And look down and watch cute couples eat picnics under them?
They constantly have their twenty something arms spread out, welcoming the birds and their families to come live with them.
But what happens when the wind betrays them and causes their arms to snap and their bodies to break, what do they feel then?
And what about when people cut into them and leave their initials carved in as a nasty reminder of the pain?
Or when they’re chopped up and transformed into some other product, life after death is certainly true for them,
God, these trees have it tough!
They’re older and wiser than most of us, stuck in the same location all their lives, their fate in the hands of a man, with seeds. Why cant they choose where they want to live forever?
Because these are the specimens that should be making the rules and ruling the world.
Maybe they do secretly, maybe they live their own world on our earth without us knowing.
Maybe there are wars between them, rivalry caused by who has the most apples on their side, burnt down and destroyed by a secret army of squirrels, these aren’t forest fires, natural disasters, it’s murder stemmed by greediness, rooted by evil.
Maybe they fall in love and get married to their neighbour, and thats why some are intwined with each other, linking arms and leaning into one another.
The willow trees weep and the palm trees dance, these trunks of wood are just as humanly as us, so,
Do you think trees have feelings?
