The laughter of children diffuses into the blue sky
As the "swoosh" of the wind dances with it

Trees sway with the wind
Turtles crawl to shore
Rampant shrubs come into view from the sand

The sun shines brightly in the sky
Almost blinding
Mid-day rays mask the beach in gold
Almost pure

How many people walked across this sand?
How many started a new chapter?
How many people burrowed their sorrows?
How many drowned out the laughter?

Relaxation occupies me as I sit in the sand
The ocean waves serenely calm my mind
And all I hear is silence
