Memories
About a summer one or two years past
One that I hoped would forever last
I would meet up with my friend
And we would chat about anything with no end
I would be on my bike and she would walk
I would ride slowly enough so we could talk
She was saying she feels silly and wants to act like a queen
While wearing these huge sunglasses that glowed kind of green
She was a gymnast that trained right up the street
And I lived a few blocks down, that’s where we would meet
I really think it brought us closer together
As we walked down the street, in the warm weather
Now we are just as close as we were
That whole summer is now kind of a blur
Except for those few days
When the sun was just a shining blaze
