The Final Beep
He looks at me with warm eyes
I smile and hand him my drawing
The smell of flowers over power the room
He looks tired and weak from fighting
She smiles and hands me her drawing
And sits down, telling me about her day
I love her and she doesn’t know what’s going to happen
Her mom and grandma cry in the corner
She keeps telling me she loves me
I look at her sad little face
I have to stay strong for her
I will always love her no matter what
A tear rolls down his cheek
My mom and grandma can’t stop crying
I can see the pain he’s going through
Nurses are running everywhere
Then the machine beeps loud
My drawing of us hugging falls to the ground
