Held Together By Chaos

A shadow of the past
Nothing is entirely real
What order there was has gone
Our very existence in shambles
But these blue poles might hold us together

When I was a boy
My world was alive
But now it’s gone
But now it’s gone

A world without love
Is not for me
My lines have been bent

This life might tear me apart at the seams
But maybe these blue poles can hold us together

How can we live in a world without love?

Things used to be vibrant
So ordered and so clean

But the armies of conviction came
Our perception has been twisted
Time and space – orange, blue, and white

I can remember
The lines on the page
But now they’re gone
But now they’re gone

In the future we might see a day
When the fantasy of organization relinquishes itself
A world in chaos will fall to ashes
And we see the true nature of man – infinite
Unless these blue poles can keep us together

I felt inspired by looking at Jackson Pollack's painting "Number 11".
