Hansel and Gretel
Winter
The snow falling down on this December night
Endless amounts of snow nonstop
Shoveling, shoveling, shoveling
The sun shining through those fluffy clouds
Melting the snow like rain dripping down your window sill
The cold freezing your hands
Drinking hot chocolate and spilling it all over your pants
Burning your tongue and leg on that dripping hot cocoa.
Selfless
Sitting here all alone in my room
Thinking about if I am going to be here tomorrow
Never knowing if I am going to be able to see tomorrow
It scares me knowing that
Sitting alone thinking about these things
Really gets me nervous because I am young and I want to live
Live to about 90 so I can see were life takes me
I want life to be full of surprises
I like being surprised
I hope life takes me to where I want it to
Taking me to heaven when I have nothing left to give
With my aunt and uncle so I can be with them again
So I can be united one last time with them,
It would really be a surprise
To see them again.
Summer
Long summer nights
Having it be over was a bummer
Seeing the sights
Of the big yellow hummer,
My friends and I reunite
Even though we are getting dumber
Knowing everything will be alright
Not seeing summer
The fright of tonight
Give me the chills
Not knowing if the night will take flight.
Basketball
Dribbling down the court
Swerving passed the opposing team
Running, Running, Running
They can’t catch me
It all comes down to this play
I threw the ball to my teammate
The refs said I traveled
That was the worst thing I ever heard
We needed to win this game to get to the championship
This was the worst thing I could imagine
I ruined it for my teammates
I will never be able to look at them the same
They will never want to talk to me again
Frustrated
The next year I still tried out for basketball
Figured they would still not talk to me
They finally forgave me
It was the best day ever
Now I know why we are teammates.
Cancer
Cancer has taken a lot of people
It took both my aunt and uncle
It just hurts that people are passing
Cause of this horrible disease
I want them to find a cure
So people can live and be with their family
I just hope this disease won’t take any of my family
It just really hurts
Seeing the little girls that are only 4 years old
And they are struggling with this horrible disease
Why do you have to take the little ones?
Take me instead of the ones that are only four years old
It is just crazy how there that little
And they already have cancer
My mom was a survivor of breast cancer
Just knowing what she went through
Makes me so proud of her
She really is my role model
Now I know who to go to when I am having trouble.
