Nightmare
Someone is chasing me,
I can’t run any faster.
I am slowing down while he is speeding up.
The thunder of chainsaw is behind me.
The roaring sound pierces my ears.
I can’t think straight.
People are standing and watching,
Cars are driving by,
No one stops to come to my rescue.
The scent of fast food sits in the air as I run by each store.
Then, the pain of the chainsaw hitting my skin,
Makes me taste the salty tears in my mouth,
As I hit the ground and cry.
The bright red blood won’t stop flowing from my arm.
I am tired,
Drifting off from the whole entire world,
I can’t seem to figure out what is going on.
I no longer can sense any pain.
I open my eyes and find the ceiling in my own room.
Sweat pouring down my face as I realized it was just a dream, I hoped.
