Submerged
Crystal blue to the sandy bottom
Gazing in amazement at the colors
Surrounded by laughter and by family
Nothing more beautiful than this ocean
Jumping in I feel the cold
Filling my wet suit in an instant
Then I descend into the power
Of the ocean and its creatures
Never in my life have I felt so powerless
Approaching the drop off my heart beats quickly
And there with my family breathing in silence
I understand the vulnerability
I am fearful yet I am filled with joy
There is no other place I would rather be
Than under the unsettled waves of the water
Lit by colors unfathomable to those on shore
