Chistmas Cheer
The little girl listens
And waits for a peek
At the fat man who comes
With all the treats.
The lovers laugh
Over Fresh fallen snow,
Their love,
And comforting cocoa.
The Ham steams
On the family table
With stuffed bellies popping seams
Grandpa’s waistline in trouble
The mistletoe strung high
The girl waiting
For that perfect guy
Who she dreams of dating
The tree stand stands
In all its splendor
Ornaments hung by children’s hands
Showing the holidays grandeur
So as you can see
Christmas cheer
Comes in all shapes and forms
But the only one I want
Is yours.
