At first sight, it might be dumb,

But this magnificent thing,

No, not a thing, but a magnificent creature,

And who would know but this feeble and humble creature,

Might be the one of the most greatest things in the sea,


Most people don’t think much of it,

This thing in the sea,

When you think of the sea, you think shark or whale,

Even coral gets more recognition,

If only they knew, if only they knew…


Although I consider them some of the greatest,

Greatest in the sea, and ready flee,

Their defense system, equal to Alcatraz’s, or at least in a way,

Shooting ink in every which way, whose to say,

Why shouldn’t they be accounted for...


Their graceful movements and maneuvers,

To escape their hunters, human and fish,

They slide through the water,

So slick and cool,

Can anyone but a few catch them?


So what now, are they still…

Still the things in the ocean,

Still the forgotten,

Still the fools of the sea,

Still the stupid squid ?
