Pick it up, hold it.
Wrap each finger around it, just as you like
until it’s comfortable.
Get your hand ready
Get your canvas ready
And draw.

Draw whatever you want
however you want.
Make it your own
Add color
Add glitter
Add sparkles
Add ribbons
Add bows
Do what you want with it.
Cover every single space
or just
one
corner.
Make it shine, shimmer, and glisten
or make it dull.
Show it off to everyone
or hide it from the world.
It’s all up to you.
It’s your canvas.

When you think you’re happy with what you’ve done
put your hand down, lift your head up
and take a long look at it.
Take in everything you’ve made it
Think.
If you don’t like it,
change it.
It’s your choice
It’s your canvas.

You can make it great,
Lovely
Irreplaceable
Fantastic
Excellent
or nothing at all.
It’s up to you.
It’s your canvas.

But be careful of what you add to it.
If you make a mistake,
You can try to hide it, paint over it, or cover it
But that mark will always be there
You can’t erase it.
The canvas may be all yours
no one else’s
But you only get
one.

It's comparing the choices we make about our life to making art appear on a canvas.
