Prose Sonnet

“And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world”
From Gary Jules Mad World.

1.
Bad luck. What is it? Is it really bad?
Because some luck I know of can be good.
2.
Good, who defines good? Is it the good or the bad? The rulers of our society, or just the ones who don’t want to speak up?
3.
Speech. There are many speeches in Shakespeare’s plays. He was the first real play write to change plays. His plays were a “petal on a wet black bough”.
They changed all of society’s view, even up until today.
4.
Today, tomorrow, time. We don’t really feel it, but somehow it is still there.
We are able to stop, but how come time can’t, it just won’t.
5.
It just won’t work out. I mean, seriously, it just won’t.
The paint on that wall totally doesn’t match the other room.
6.
We all just need a little room. Whether it is that little distance between that stranger in line,
or a place we go alone to hang out, to relax a little, to think.
7.
I think this, he thinks that. All our opinions ultimately separate us.
Yet why do we fight? Why is every other world problem about war, religion or money?
8.
Money is the root of all evil. It can make even the weakest people have power to do whatever they want. But it also makes the world go round. Huge buildings and boats are made from money. Money can also help the less fortunate who are in need.
9.
Necessities are necessary. Oh necessities, without you we would all be needless. Don’t give us too much though, for obsessions can lead to monstrous outcomes.
10.
Monsters, yes, like the ones on Halloween. Small ones, big ones, some which are not even monsters. All night ringing at my door.
11.
Doors keep wanted things IN and the unwanted OUT. For isn’t it everyone’s right to keep things where they should be, and not inside their house?
12.
Houses we plan, houses we build, houses we tear down. This cycle of house building, houses being built. Building houses for others, others building houses for us.
13.
Us. Hey that includes me, and you, and you, but definitely not you. Who we hang out with and how our society sees us influences us, others, friends.
14.
Good friends, bad friends. Who is really to decide? No one, only luck can. A toss of a coin, the roll of a dice. Good luck or bad luck is not up to you. Nor is it up to anyone else, the government, society, time. Only the mystery of luck can truly decide one’s fate.
