The flower that blooms in adversity is often the most rare and beautiful of them all.

It’s funny how thin people want to be round
And round people want to be thin;
How we’re all convinced we need to change
To really and truly fit in;
Tall people want to be short,
And short people want to be tall
Small people want to be big
And big people want to be small
But if big people became little
And little people became big
And round people became
As skinny as a stick;
Then short people wouldn’t be short
And tall people wouldn’t be tall
Round people wouldn’t be round
Would there be any people at all?
If Big people were actually little people
And White people were really black people
Spanish people were really French people
And smart people were really not so smart people
Who could say which person which person actually was?
It doesn’t make much sense does it?
To change the worlds design
Big people should just be big people
Vice versa for everyone else and we’ll be fine.
If the little people turned big
Suddenly wanted to be small
And the round people turned thin
Found that they don’t like thin after all
Then we would have round people –turned-thin-turned round
And thin people-turned-round-turned-thin
Heck we would have turned the world upside down!
Complete and utter craziness
Surely nobody wins?
Why change what God has made
So perfectly?
Whether you’re thin, round, big, small, tall, short
Black or white,
Heavy or light
Sanguine, melancholic, choleric
And phlegmatics too
Musical, athletic, scientific you,
Could be an Introvert, extrovert,
Any kind of you
When you’re feeling low
And wishing oh,
That you could be someone else
Remember that you’re exactly the way you’re meant to be
Big – hipped, small – hipped
An A cup bra or maybe a D
Small muscles, Big muscles
On the football squad or the spelling team
God made you perfectly
You’re fearfully and wonderfully made
So don’t go forgetting that
The next time you want to change.

The author's comments:
so i heard some of my friends talking, you know girl stuff, how they wished they were thinner, longer hair, etc. etc. and the thing was that all the things they wanted to change about themselves were the things that made them them. so i started wondering what would happen if everyone decided to change something, or everything about themselves. they wouldn't REALLY be themselves would the?
I hope people reading this can take a minute to stop and realise that even the pieces of themselves they don't like are part of who they are.
