Walking on top of a sea of glass
the water underneath the shade of your eyes
I feel no pressure, I feel so safe
only to see my demise
I take one small step
and try to speak
but the glass shatters
and I feel so weak
suffocating under the glass
the water pushes me against it
I wish so badly to slip back through the holes I had broken
but that is only a wish.
my life flips sideways
the glass reforms with a wall of silver behind it
I stand along, wishing you were here
pretending there's no fear.
The pain and the retch
the lies and regret
as I see myself
in the mirror.
