Looking at the pictures
I am completely appalled
Nobody should have to suffer like this,
Nobody should let Death be a guest in their home
Because their child hasn’t eaten in weeks.

Children are walking skeletons,
Thin, weak, hungry.
They have nothing to satisfy them
They are slowly dying
Can nobody end their pain?

I find guilt in these pictures
I take for granted
The meals I have every day,
The food we waste as a nation
Is sickening

One dollar
Is all it takes
To save the life of a child for a day
A small meal that provides
Everything a child needs to survive the day

30 dollars for a month
While the average American
Spends one-hundred or more
In one day alone
Just to throw most of it away

I say no more!
No more hungry children!
No more children losing
Their fight with Hunger!
No more!

Twenty thousand
Lose their fight daily
That should not happen!
This shouldn't be
The normal thing!

For the next 30 hours
I will understand
What it’s really like
To be hungry
While continuing my daily routine

I won’t be alone
Other teenagers are also
Joining me in my plight
To end world hunger
One dollar at a time

This is the Famine
Not one by force
But choice
One day of fasting
And devotion to prayer

To Overcome Hunger
Is our mission
One that my heart longs
For us to succeed
This is the 30 Hour Famine

This is us. This is who we are. We demand attention.

Okay, I think that is the fastest you have ever made me cry! EVER!
