Dim light
pushes away the familiarity, but it doesn't
efface
the integrity of your profile.
I sit with reliance on the bed sheets,
dependent on their unkempt nature to cushion
our unmentionable deed.
Wax

i
p
p
e
d
and
settled.
In its mold we emptied
the word we once let flow
within our circulatory systems,
thick as molasses.
The room, even with its shadows,
is full of an indescribable hollowness
for which neither of us
desired,
and so I mourn.
