my life my choice
I want to talk about
I want to talk about freedom
How the innocent have to leave
The land of the free in order to
Keep the freedom. How the
Innocent can no longer be innocent
But something else.
I want to talk about war.
How men wage war like a game like battleship
Knowing that their own brothers and
Sisters, cousins die while they
Sit in a comfy chair watching their work.
Talk of bloodshed mixed with gunpowder.
How money goes to the victor.
How countries are torn apart afterwards.
Left there broken and defenseless.
Talk April 12, 1861 & how America was
Fighting amongst each other.
Fighting over nothing but land.
Talk 1917 with one of the biggest wars
And how the world was split apart Fighting.
Because of what one royal person from
Austria-Hungary being assassinated.
Talk of courage & audacity.
How the young American men and
Women choose the life of guns and hardships.
Of brotherhoods and sisterhoods.
Talk about how they can overcome anything.
Fighting because that is their choice.
I want to talk about the families
Of those few. How they are proud to be their parents.
How they will look at their child and see the changes
See how that one choice changed their life.
I want to talk about that choice.
How I have chosen that life.
I want to talk about how I always wanted this.
How when I was a little kid I have
Been able to take things apart and
Put them together and they still work.
I want to talk about how this isn’t a joke.
I am not a joke.
The marine corps is not a joke.
