A mother's beating heart
Comforting her baby child
Wrapped in pink blankets
So much depends upon
A sweet melodic voice
Singing lullabies at night
Scaring away the darkness
So much depends upon
Fathers checking for monsters
Under beds, inside closets
Clicking on the nightlight
So much depends upon
A freckled-faced girl
Throwing spaghetti at moms
Throwing tantrums with dads
So much depends upon
A loving happy family
Through thick and thin
Loving each other always
