Cold, skinny, a build-up of goosebumps.
Life is still,
while bones slowly sink to ashes.
Flick. Flick.

Skin flattens,
soothes like a body that just turned on a heater.
Movement, a start with no end
swirling dyes bend.
Ice blue has morphed violet.
tik tik tik tik tik...

A rush of adrenaline,
violet to magenta, swirls and mixes,
simmers and brews.
Bubbles burst to the surface,
and permeably soaks out from within.
huff, huff, huff…

Skin, now drenched,
a heater that now burns
a dye that harvests cherry red
and rose flesh on the cheeks.
With bones that are more alive than ever,
and a breath that can't be caught, never.

My recent hobby of running inspired me to write this piece. It fascinates me how my body changes internally when I run.
