Imaginary Escape
It was a magic castle
And we were the mystical kings and queens,
Who hid within the wooden walls,
Crawled through its tunnels and
Slid down the trap doors.
We became chimpanzees
In a wild jungle,
As we swung from vine to vine,
Hoping our little fingers wouldn't slip
Causing us to fall into quick sand.
High pitched screams and
Giggles echoed about
As we launched into the air,
Holding onto the chains
For dear life.
When that cruel whistle blew
Our minds shifted back into reality,
Small hearts still beating
Longing for the magic fantasy to last,
We’re beckoned back to reality.
