New Beginnings

A radiant sunrise is the start to a new day,
With a light breeze blowing across the bay.
The orange glow signaling new life,
Pierces the sky like a sharp knife.

A new seed taking root,
As the cowboy slides on his boot.
A mother giving birth is a beautiful thing,
A brand new soul spreading its wings.

Leaving high school with diploma in hand,
Will be an arduous task at hand.
Leaving all your friends behind,
You will undoubtedly want to rewind.

But as one door closes,
Another opens.
As one chapter ends,
Another begins.

Just like the sun giving way to the stars,
Mom and dad letting go their sweetheart.
Darkness takes back the sky,
As the hound dog lets go one more cry.

The sun will soon rise again,
Revealing yet another perfect ten.
The orange glow signaling new life,
Will pierce the sky like a sharp knife.

Not long ago, I got a bad case of senioritis. That is what inspired me to write this. Realizing that pretty soon, i'll be graduating high school and moving on in life to bigger and better things.
