The Lullaby

Off in the distance
Trapped in the horror
A child is crying and begging for her mother
Who lies a few feet away
The star of David on her clothes
A sad expression on her face
With dry old tears that she shed as she departed
Before she left she sang this lullaby to calm the tears of her beloved child
Listen to me now, wipe those tears away, life had taken a wrong turn and we were sadly, to be blamed
Days of gray will go away
Our hunger will be satisfied
Smiles and laughter will come at last
friends that we lost will come back
Wipe those tears away, fear no danger, hold no rage…..the time has come to say goodbye, hold fate and your courage strong ,these days will soon be gone….and when memories come flooding back just remember my lullaby that I sang to you before I died.
