The End of the First
Day One Beings.
The same as every other.
Head forced down,
Eyes staring blankly at your feet
As they begin their drag into the social hell.
The only thing you learn is silence-
The key to your existence.
You feel the pairs of beady eyes staring at your broken body.
You feel the stings of every hushed whisper and crude remark.
Each a new tattoo on your scratched soul.
You can see the rhythms of your heart through your tattered shirt.
A cold shiver creeps up your spine.
The beating seizes momentarily
As you clear your throat,
“Hello.”
The beating beings again.
Day One Ends.
