Everything starts with auditions
Nerve racking auditions
Stepping up to the stage
After I start reading
Lines from the script take me to a new world
I finish, I am relieved, and calm
One week of waiting
Praying for the lead
Triumphant as the premier role is mine
Relishing the multitudinous lines
A special feeling emanates
When you are the lead
Right before the first show
I obsess
"Do not mess up"
And I don't
The spot light
It is the place to be
