A hero isn't the one walking away, the man who saved the day.
A hero isn't the person who flies high in the sky, protecting those at night.
A hero doesn't boast of what they've done, head held high to the sun.
A hero is the one in the hole, the one who paid the highest tole.
A hero stands ready to fight, staying up day and night protecting whats right.
The prisoner of war, whose life is now torn.
the person sitting quietly in the corner never the same, reflecting on what can not be changed.
The man in a chair, trying not to shed a tear.
A hero gives up their life on a daily basis, from the oath they took changing their stasis.
that is my hero, and my hero shall forever remain the same.
