Speak the truth
Or I dare not listen.
Say what your heart tells you.
Take a moment
And let emotion envelope you.
I don't see any other way
We can get through this life
Without it becoming a lie.
Say aloud what your spirit whispers
Unless you lack the strength,
In which case write it down.
Pour your soul upon the paper,
And, if you're like me,
Say that it has meaning
And call it poetry.
