Sacred Heart

Debris scattered throughout the city,
Covering the delicate earth surface
The fluttering beats of the ocean,
Touched the clouds in the distant sky.
Looking down upon the terror stricken eyes
Saw the sorrow, the future that beheld us.
And the gravity held no fight against the waves.
So as it drained my city, took my family, and left me empty
God shined his light, from the sky to my chest,
Revealing my sacred heart.
