The Love That Hurts
I look up to see your eyes water.
Not necessarily sadness, more love.
That was when I realized you truly care.
It brought me joy to know you still felt that way.
And for a while, it seemed you were on the right path.
I was so happy to know you were doing well.
But then, you messed up again.
You made mistakes.
It didn't surprise me, no.
It disappointed me.
Because here I was, thinking you really were trying,
Only to screw up again.
It pains me to know you do this,
but I can only pray that you'll find your way back.
Sure you have imperfections, as do I.
But I'll always love you.
