Two Winters Ago MAG
You breathed the breath out of my lungs
 and collapsed my already
 crumbling and feeble chest.
 Without touching
 you looked at me
with eyes like night and knives
until all that was left were ashes.
 My heart fought wildly
against all the hopes and fears
but in the end all that was left
was an empty cave, and echoes of you
 bouncing off the walls.
 Winter whispered its good-bye
and long after you were gone
 your stiff jeans and slouch
stayed with me, in the palms
 of my searching hands.
 It haunts me still
 how your playing lips
 never said my name.
