Who Am I?

Who am I?
You'd think
having been myself
most of me life,
I would know better
than anyone
who I am.
But I don't.
Who am I?
Maybe I'm a book
waiting to be read.
Or maybe I'm still being written.
Perhaps I'm a muddy orchid,
delicate and beautiful,
hiding under what you see.
Could I be a bird?
Singing my story
to to world
before I leave it behind?
I hope so.
But I'm probably just a girl.
Surviving on faith
and dreams of
a brighter future.
I am who I am,
whoever that may be.
