Mother's Tale
"An apple a day keeps the screams away"

My mother would tell me at night

She'd whisper to me the words of the wise

 On moonlit foggy nights

There we sat in the tower atop the cliffs that were so high

As the tendrils licked the stony side of the castle of she and I

And to this day I remember those nights so clearly in my mind

Mostly because the tales she'd tell were anything but kind

Heed her warning she'd scream to me and dare not forget them I try

So I shall remember the tales till my last breath: the day I die
