the perfect storm

drops twinkle like shooting stars in the streetlight as they fall.
lightning lights the sky and shines bright across your face
the thunder crashes, covering the sound of my heartbeat as our lips meet
the rain beating down around us
the storm keeps going
hearts soar with every crash and every touch
the lightning strikes again but this time from within your eyes
they send sparks through my body as you watch my face
the storm around us begins to calm, but the one within is has just begun
