I do believe that I was,
in some crude elemental form,
happy.
clasping it in the twin curves
of my palms,
I wished I could trap
the primordial glow
in a jar
before the inevitable vanishing.
span of my hands and three
rattling exhales
before it
flew away.
wished I could trap
the animal light.
