The look in those cold, stoned eyes
Were one of no surprise
Of course, he was high
His countenance formerly bright
Had given into the unrelenting night
He begged
Even pleaded
Love was all he actually needed
I agreed
Picked up my keys
Weighing heavily in my hand
My eyes danced one last dance
Looking at him
Truly looking
I knew what I had to do
I turned
And left
Knowing this was for the best
The end of himself had to come
