The First, But Not The Last
June eleventh
 First night of summer
 All our classes done
 And our finals over
 We celebrate the year
 In those woods
 With that fire
 All your crazy friends
 And that bridged river

 You wait with me
As I fight to keep up
And I fight through the twigs
 The leaves and the branches
 Then we reach the river
And I pick up my pace
 Running towards the bridge
 Leaving you behind
But I stop ?And I turn

 I run back to you
 Only inches apart
 Only seconds spent staring
 Into your sky blue eyes
 Lean forward
 Lips meet
For the first time but not the last
 Running again
Towards the rest of the guys
 Cheeks bright red
 And tummy butterflies swirling
