Its a dream
A vein searing my hand
The colour flooding the stone pavement
Scorching the sky
So relentless

Sixteen when I last loved you
Sixteen when you slipped through my fingers
Bloodshot eyes and fake drunkenness

Dream on
Dream on

This emptiness, is it a void?

A blade cutting a hand, a heart,
A sigh and a pair of suede shoes
Crushed remnants of you and I on the floor

The horizon is fading
The sky is blood orange
The wind is breathing
And I know what it says

A pair of suede shoes
And your heart underneath it

A broken smile and a shiny wrist-watch
Memories of that night
Unmade, it never happened

Love
And lose again
I never could be her
