It's Okay, Love
It's here, love

 The spring has come, the flowers spread their seed,

 Humans are doing the same

 (They're multiplying, dear,

 there will be more of them--

 more flowers, more people, more life)

 .

 It's amazing, love

 Different cycles: nine months, or two

 One year if you're a tree

 (But it's the same isn't it? Life spreading life,

 the created becoming creators,

 time working as a friend, for once)

 .

 We're alive, love

 We walk

 We talk

 We lie under our dark blue sky and argue the merits of living on the moon

 (You think it strange, but it's a wonderful thought, truly:

 just us, preserved on cool rock.

 We would look down at Earth and imagine ourselves closer to the stars)

 .

 We're dying, love

 I celebrate this life but

 Living is also dying

 We might as well celebrate that too

 (My time will come before yours, I hope;

 with you, I would be that selfish)

 .

 It's okay, love,

 Winter will come again

 The flowers will die

 We will die

 (And it will be tragic, surely,

 but deserved, I imagine,

 and we will have lived greatly, tirelessly;

 we'll welcome the rest)
