Parallel
Parallel to the ground is where I’d like to be
Not crooked, not sideways, just parallel
With my right hand over my heart
And my left arm crossed over
Parallel to the ground is where I’d like to be
 In my Sunday best
I can make my parents proud
 ‘Cuz I fought hard
 With my battle scars hidden
 Underneath the make up
 They can pretend
That it wasn’t what it was
 That my dream was the
 Unthinkable sin
 That my over consuming thought
 Was death
 As I do down under
 I’ll remember that
Parallel to the ground is where I’d like to be
