Ode to Spring
Oh glorious signs of spring,

You make me want to dance and sing!

 Your flowers are bursting forth

And you’ve sent the snow geese flying north.

Thank you dear Jesus for changing the season,

For I was beginning to wonder if winter had a reason.

 The wind has started blowing,

And the leaves are finally showing.

 Oh glorious signs of spring,

You make me want to dance and sing!

 Children will laugh and play

 And shout to you “hooray!”

The birds will joy in your arrival

And create a much needed revival!

If I could paint you on a canvas

 Your colors would be endless.

 Oh glorious signs of spring,

You make me want to dance and sing!

I hear the sounds of whippoorwills,

As they echo over mountains and hills.

I smell your sweet fragrant perfume

As your flowers burst into full bloom!

Dear spring, you are my favorite season,

 Only because of one reason:

You make me want to dance and sing!

 Oh glorious signs of spring!
