This is ME
I'm not a "colored"
 I'm not a "black"
 I'm not a "negro"
 Nor am I a "n*****"
 No, I am human
 I am a person
And in God's eyes, I am your sister
But when you look at me all you seem to see is color
To you I am just another one of "them"
 An "it"
 A part of "those"
 Not a potential friend
 Fellow American
But because my skin is black, I am your foe
Why does it matter that I am black and you are white
Like you are so different than I
Like this color of mine defines the character inside
This color of mine should not cause you to be in fear for your life
Nor should this color of mine depend on how you treat me in this life
This is America and in America we are all free people
I am entitled to the same rights as you
 The same freedoms
 We are equal
