The Report
Cold winter night
Help me if it finds me
Save me if it engulfs me
It stalks me like a predator searching for its prey.

 I try to avoid it,
 I’m always postponing the imminent
 By hiding in the shadows
A shadowy shade ever watching and waiting to strike.

It mocks me all the time,
Even when I think I am free from its touch
I try to move away but I know it’s meaningless
Yet I still run from it.

It’s here now I knew it would come
I have a choice, accept my fate or run and hide
I’m afraid but I must stay resolute
I will stay right here on this cold winter night.
