Unique Beauty
She holds
 in her palms,
 gently nestled,
 cold against her skin,
 millions of winter’s greatest gift.
 Delicate as glass,
 powerful as God.
 She opens her cupped hands
 and watches them dance.
 Tumbling and spiraling
 over one another,
 whirling and twirling
 in her breath
 flowing with its course.
 Each solitary gem
 unique from the next.
 Falling
 and falling
 faster
 and faster.
 Landing
 gently.
 Safe,
 Serene.

 She smiles
 brightly,
 her cheeks
 glowing,
 illuminating
 every living thing.
 Reflecting through
 every clear frozen spec
 that lays a white blanket
 over the never-ending landscape.
Her job is done for now.
 She adores it dearly
 because she is responsible
for all of nature’s greatest wonders.
