I loved you because you were the first,
after Sam.
I'd listen to the summer days
and breathe in your scent.
We'd go to the beach, totally in love,
with all the windows down,
blasting Led Zeppelin.
Love you like my root beer freezie.
Like my freezie,
you melted into nothing.
Led Zeppelin quickly changed
to Protest the Hero.
No, I won't protest the hero,
he is everything to us.
He gave us hope in a dark world.
The windows in your car
were rolled up.
The beach froze over too soon

This is very well written. I love the musical references! Also, a "root beer freezie" seems very particular and makes it all the more special.
