After a Bomb

Roses, roses adorn her brow
Tear tracks streaming off her frown
Briars, wires make her crown
Ashes, ashes falling down

Soot stained stones litter the streets
Smoke slows her trembling heartbeats
Welcome rolling fog and mist
Crows and flies as the only witnesses

Footprints gone from the village square
Stench of death now fills the air
Heady weeping now the sound
There is no life to be found

Roses, roses adorn her brow
Tear tracks streaming off her frown
Briars, wires make her crown
Ashes, ashes falling down
