Chariot
Sweet chariot awaits my arrival ,
 It's ivory white wood aglow;
 But I am not yet ready to depart
 From this earthly home I know.

 Too young I must be
 To leave this world behind.
 How different my life would be
 If I kept this day in mind.

 Unintentionally imprisoned,
 By our feeble mortality.
 How freely I would soar,
 Unhinged with liberty.

 Perhaps then my time is now
 If free I no longer stay.
 I fear I may be trapped,
 Filled with sudden dismay.

 I cry out for justice;
 Does anybody hear?
 I beg for more time,
 I receive my answer bluntly.

 "You must go where others have gone before,
 Down to the ivory sands of shore."
 Tonight I swim with graceful ease,
 Into the dark immortal seas.
